Agriculture

David Hill is our minister of Agriculture. His task is to replace the Canadian Prairies genetically modified wheat fields with industrial hemp.

“Hemp Revolution: A Sustainable Future Powered by Green Energy”

Thesis: Canada must replace outdated agricultural and energy policies with a national hemp initiative—transitioning farmland to industrial hemp production, developing hemp-based lithium battery alternatives, and positioning Canada as a global leader in sustainable technology.

1. Hemp Farming: The Backbone of a Green Economy

If appointed Minister of Agriculture, my first act would be to phase out subsidized monoculture crops (like GMO wheat and corn) and replace them with industrial hemp. Why?

  • Sustainability: Hemp requires 90% less water than cotton, enriches soil rather than depleting it, and grows in almost any climate—perfect for the Prairies.
  • Economic Boom: Hemp can be used for textiles, bioplastics, construction materials, and food, creating jobs in farming, processing, and manufacturing.
  • Carbon Capture: Hemp absorbs more CO2 per acre than forests, making it a critical tool in fighting climate change.

Policy Proposal:

  • Subsidize hemp farmers and provide grants for processing facilities.
  • Ban corporate lobbying from Big Ag that suppresses hemp innovation.
  • Launch a “Hemp for Canada” campaign to rebrand Canadian agriculture.

2. Hemp Batteries: Powering the Future Without Destroying the Planet

Lithium batteries are an environmental disaster—mining destroys ecosystems, and recycling is nearly impossible. But what if your phone, car, and solar grid could be powered by hemp batteries?

  • Hemp-Based Supercapacitors: Research shows hemp cellulose can be converted into graphene-like nanomaterials, storing energy more efficiently than lithium.
  • Cheaper & Cleaner: No toxic mining, no child labor, no geopolitical conflicts over rare minerals—just Canadian-grown hemp.
  • A Made-in-Canada Solution: Instead of relying on foreign lithium, we could lead the global energy transition.

Policy Proposal:

  • Invest $1 billion in hemp battery R&D, partnering with universities and startups.
  • Mandate that all government devices use hemp batteries by 2030.
  • Tax breaks for companies that adopt hemp energy storage.

3. Breaking the Corporate Stranglehold on Agriculture

Kody Blois and the old-guard politicians have let Big Ag and fossil fuel lobbyists dictate policy for too long. The result? Soil degradation, farmer debt, and climate collapse.

  • End subsidies for destructive farming practices.
  • Break up agricultural monopolies that control seed patents and suppress hemp.
  • Put farmers, scientists, and Indigenous leaders in charge of policy—not corporate donors.

Policy Proposal:

  • A National Farmer & First Nations Cooperative to oversee hemp industry development.
  • Ban patents on hemp strains—this plant belongs to the people.

4. What Stands in Our Way? (And How We Crush It)

The Opposition:

  • Big Ag corporations (Monsanto, Bayer, etc.) who profit from pesticides and GMOs.
  • Lithium mining giants who don’t want competition.
  • Politicians like Kody Blois who are too afraid to disrupt the status quo.

The Solution:

  • Mass grassroots pressure—protests, petitions, and voting out hemp opponents.
  • A national education campaign to debunk myths about hemp.
  • Direct democracy—let Canadians vote on hemp policies via secure online referendums.

Conclusion: A Green Prairie Revolution

Canada doesn’t need to choose between the economy and the environment. By embracing hemp for sustainability and hemp batteries for energy, we can:
✅ Revitalize rural economies
✅ Fight climate change
✅ Break free from corporate control
✅ Become a global leader in green tech

The future isn’t just possible—it’s growing in a hemp field near you.

Join the movement. Vote Hemp. Vive la Canada!

P.S. If Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh really want to prove they’re progressive, they’ll ditch the empty promises and endorse hemp batteries today. (Or maybe Nelly Furtado will beat them to it.) 🌿🔋

Minister of Agriculture Election

David Hill could turn all of the prairie land of Canada into fields of GREEN industrial hemp and end food insecurity once and for all.
